Exams can be a stressful time for students, filled with pressure and uncertainty. On January 20th, Minds Over Marks hosted a special event where students came together to create good luck messages and share exam tips.

Why Is It Important?
We all know what happens when exams are coming up: Cramming all around the clock, stressing about what's going to be on the test, calculating grade averages...
So our group decided to ask students to support each other by writing down good luck messages. After writing one, we give out a lollipop to sweeten their day.

As students pass by the wall, they know that many others wish them well and are working hard with them! Exams can be scary and boring, and an engaging activity coupled with a lollipop treat could lift their moods the day before exams.
Many students were happy to write these notes, providing exam tips, cute art, and inside jokes. Some even wrote multiple and used stamps to decorate them!

What They Wrote
The messages ranged from simple words of encouragement to practical advice. Here are some examples that stood out:
“Don't be nervous!”
“Don't pull all-nighters!”
"Don't overthink it.”
“Slow progress is better than no progress.”
“Never give up!"
“You're gonna do great!”

The Impact
Seeing peers’ positive messages lifted spirits and reminded students they were part of a caring community. The wall became a talking point, encouraging students to share their own advice and experiences. Students who felt overwhelmed found comfort knowing others shared similar feelings.
Teachers and staff also noticed a calmer, more focused environment in the cafeteria, which contributed to a better overall exam experience.
Student Feedback
After the event, many students shared how the good luck messages affected them:
“I needed one of those for myself.”
“I liked the sticky notes.”
“It was a fun activity to put my mind off exam stress for a bit.”
“That's a lot of support!"
Conclusion
With some candy, peer encouragement, and fun notes, students are going through exams confidently. Knowing that mental support is everywhere contributed to a positive, interactive student body.
